SOUNDS OF MUSIC CLARIFICATIONS

IMPOUNDING:

All instruments will be impounded from 8 - 9 a.m. on the day of the competition.
During the impound period, students should set up their instruments in the location designated, and have them tuned and ready to play when they return at their scheduled competition time.

Students may use a tuner to prepare their instruments prior to the performance.

THE ENSEMBLE:

The sample tune, Aura Lee, and the chosen melody must be played by both members of the team, each using their own instrument.

The music performed must be properly notated and a separate copy must be available to the judges during the performance, including the tune Aura Lee if it is transposed.

DURING THE PERFORMANCES:

Students and other spectators are expected to remain quiet during the performances.
Disruptions to the performance of others may result in a team being disqualified.
