There are three majors that award
associate degrees - Architectural, Construction
Management, and Surveying. All of these majors are
accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission
of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and
Technology and the program has held this accreditation
for over 25 years.
The Architectural Major of
the Civil Engineering Technology prepares engineering
technicians to assist engineers and architects in the
design of buildings. Graduates combine technical
skills such as CAD and engineering mechanics with
knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical and
lighting system design to help in development of
building plans and specifications.
The Construction Management Major
of the Civil Engineering Technology program prepares
graduates to apply knowledge of building methods, cost
estimating, project scheduling, and management
principles to assist contractors in procuring and
controlling building projects. Graduates leave
Cincinnati State with a broad knowledge of surveying
fundamentals, structural mechanics, safety and CAD in
addition to specific project control knowledge.
The Surveying Major of the
Civil Engineering Technology program prepares
graduates to utilize knowledge of surveying methods,
equipment, and software to lead field crews and assist
in site development and design. Graduates leave
Cincinnati State with a broad knowledge of boundary,
route, and construction layout fundamentals, in
addition to specific knowledge of CAD packages and
third-party applications.
